i think im sure now!!!!!

so today i pulled the plug wires and injector connectors on the cylinders that caused my misfire and absolutely no change. i switched the wires to make sure they were working and they were good and could hear them firing so im almost sure its my injectors. im still going to check my distributor cap for cracks. i tried to check the ohms from the injectors but i couldn't. i would also like to do a compression test but i dont know how to do that either. but im quite sure its injectors 1,4,and 5. poor max is runnig like a tractor lol

why cant you check the resistance? multimeters aren't too expensive and very handy for diagnosing.

"idk" what? it's not hard....... at all. pull plug off, test resistance. all there is to it. i could teach a 3 year old to do it.

as for mixing red tops.... i wouldn't advise it. my mpg is STILL dropping (25mpg a month ago, then 23, 22, 21, 21, 20, and today, 18.3) from me putting red tops in instead of pink tops. you will be running half-and-half so you the ECU will try and compensate and you will end up with 3 cylinders running very lean, and 3 cylinders very rich. it doesn't just 'average out'.

91 injectors won't fit in a 93, they use a different connector and a different fuel rail

his 91 VG had VE/VQ injectors installed in it by a previous owner... notice he said red-top, and he confirmed that the connectors were just as those of the 93-94 VG/VE/VQ injectors. and we all know what happens when you use red top injectors in a VG.......

when did he say that?
and calling injectors by the "color" of their top is highly inaccurate.
the altima also used a "red top" injector but it is different than the VE injector.

in some other thread. i suppose it's possible that the injectors are red but still 180cc, but for the potential risks i'm not entirely certain it's worth it. especially not mixing and matching... at least if you do all 6 like i did, you can kinda sorta get it back under control with a SAFC or something. even so, that's alot of extra trouble.

its the same connector. i think i read something that said the injectors became color coded with the dots on 92 and up. im just confused because they came out of a vg just i have a 93 and it was a 91. anyone has a 91 and wut color are your injectors??

listen to what i'm telling you. the type of injectors you have are NOT original for that 91. they are from some other year or car (probably a VE or VQ), because the 89-92 had rectangle connectors, not the roundish ones like your "91" and your car have. that's why i was saying if they are red, they are probably the wrong kind of injector for a VG. no amount of wishing and hoping is going to magically make them the right part. have you read about the problems i've been havig with VE/VQ injectors on my VG? only had them on for a month, IF THAT, and i might have to replace my engine because of it.
