Opinions needed - "repeaters" / side markers (PICS inside)

I'm experimenting with a rather uncommon mod. Repeaters.

If you haven't heard of repeaters, they're basically fender-mounted turn signals. You see them on almost all European cars (i.e. VW, BMW, Volvo), and some domestic cars. Anyway...

I need your opinions on which to get. So far, I have come up with 2 options.

Option 1:

G20 Repeaters. Here's what they look like:

And to fit them to the car, here's what the cutout would look like:

Option 2:

eBay "universal" side markers. Here's what they look like:

And to fit them, here's my estimation of what the cutout would look like (the dotted line is the outline of where the light would sit):

Pros and cons:

G20 repeaters
-Pros: Nissan OEM parts, professionally made.
-Cons: Cutout looks a little difficult, may stick out a little too far.

eBay side markers
-Pros: Simple cutout.
-Cons: eBay brand.

Which do you all like better? Which do you think would make for a better mod?

I already have the G20's from a trip to the junkyard today, but the eBay brand are cheap, so price isn't an issue. I'm mainly concerned with which would look best, and perform the best. As far as color, I'm probably going to be blacking them out, so the color won't be an issue either.

It looks like unless you recess the cutout for the g20 ones they will stick out a ton and i really wouldn't worry about the ebay ones falling apart they are not a complex part and the fix would be some silicone caulk in most cases.

personally not a fan but if i had to choose one i would go with the ebay ones

the shadow on the G20s may be misleading. the "top" of the lens (that is, the tallest part) wouldn't even be 1/2" from the fender. personally, I don't think it would stick out too far...but everyone i've asked does.

the ebay ones would definitely sit more flush, but i'm not sure if sticking out would be a bad thing. it's hard to imagine what it would look like on our cars, since only a handful of people have done them, and at the moment i can't find a picture of anyone with them.

for ease of install get the ebay ones.
Just remember to paint the holes so they don't start rusting.
good luck.

This may be an uncommon mod now, but a few years back its was the latest trend and everyone had them. So nothing new really.

^ that's the little speck of esteem i have after that comment. thanks flav.

lol jk... i went ahead and got the eBay ones, but the ones i had found are no longer available...AT ALL. i'm thinking APC made them remove the listing or something, because they are very similar and may be a patent infringement or something. but i went with the APC markers; they look almost exactly the same.

will ul pics as soon as i receive and install them, thanks for the input!

okay, just an (late) update... i received the eBay markers, finally got around to wiring them up, got everything finished except for screwing them in and calling it a day.

the lenses on both markers shattered, with just me pushing them into the clips.

eBay FTMFL!!!!!!!!!!!

so i'm gonna go with the g20's, and hopefully they won't look too bad. gotta start over on the drilling though, luckily i'm making the holes bigger, because if it were the other way around i'd be screwed!
