Weird sound from my Max after car is turned off

Hey all, I just got me 4th gen Max recently and was wondering if ya'll could help me. Everytime after I drive when I shut the car off, I hear some weird noise like a bunch of metal flakes bouncing around internally towards the bottom of the car. The noise will last for a few minutes then go away. Anyone have an idea what that could be?

Hot oil dripping down the engine to the pan, oil drops hitting the pan is what you hear.

Is it somewhat of a pinging sound? It's normal. Many vehicles will make that sound while cooling down after being driven.

My maximas always do this...some of the exhaust is cooling down thus popping.

Oh ok, phew. Thanks for the replies guys. No there aren't any leaks, but just wanted to make sure that it was normal. Thanks again!

Hot metal expanding and contracting all cars do it, some are more audible.

Just metal cooling as stated. Mine does this very loud after I got rid of the heat shields, which I think keep it from cooling too fast in that situation, thus minimizing the popping (the shields are there for other reasons, but I think they contribute to this). I only have my front one one. Forgot to put the back on one when I swapped my OEM headers back in.
