What would be the ultimate Maxima?? (Let's Have some Fun with it)

I'll go first:

Take the current body (keeping it 4 Doors) we have and add the Stillen Kit and make it an AWD, use the current GTR Engine/Transmission Set up on 20" Titanium/Gun Metal or Hypersilver lightweight Rims.

Of course it would have all the performance goodies:
Double wishbone suspension
Big Brake Kit with Titanium rotors
Body made of Carbon Fiber (or as much of it as possible but still look metallic)
Water to Air Intercoolers
Lightweight Fan
Lightweight Battery
Automatic Adjustable Rear Decklid Spoiler
Underbody Defusers, etc., etc.

The back doors would open up in a Suicide style, with the hood opening forward like on a Vette, plus everything inside will be voice command activated with blue interior lighting and remote starting/DVD surround sound with 16 speakers and Bluetooth/built-in computer capable of storing up to 200GB of data-videos and music.

Wheeewwww, I think that about covers it.

What's your version?

Don't forget it must have a Flux Capacitor in order to go in time.

A dash display showing the exact psi of each of the four running tires, as well as the spare.

Power folding outside mirrors.

Ability to turn the navi screen away from the driver, so it faces the front passenger seat, and, while in that position, ALL options and functions are unblocked.

Since Chrysler is leaving Nascar in 2011, Nissan needs to step up and start racing in Nascar.

Maxima with a V8, RWD, and 850 horsepower, with a 4-speed manual transmission. Yeahhhhhh!!!!!!

Why do a V8 when they can put a twin turbo on a nasty V6 and rape all the V8s?????

yeah, the VR38DETT is pretty sick. It would be sicker if they hooked it up to a TR-6060 or a T-56 or a G50. Something that doesn't shatter if you go WOT.

The ultimate Maxima would most definitely be a 3rd gen with VQ35DE and 6 speed manual

I actually wouldn't mind an HUD. Makes things a little safer on busy highways.

I'd take one of those, please! I still love the lines of the 3rd gen. My dad had a 93. I've owned a 96 and an 01. My AE would be perfect if it had a 6spd, that's the only other thing I'd change.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I first test drove the car.

I loved that about my 03" Z06.

I wonder if there is any kind of HUD aftermarket product that someone offers. I tried looking this morning and couldn't see anything.

I can tell you one thing, any ultimate Maxima would have a manual transmission, as far as I am concerned the '07 max might as well be called a Mercury Maquis, it is about as sporty as one of those. Also, what is up with Nissan offering a 6-Speed in the Altima sedan but if you want leather you have to get an automatic. I love my '06 Max, but Nissan is really sucking wind lately. I guess I will have to save up for a BMW 535 or better to get what I want. "4 Door Sports Car" my ****.

Lol, now you know the 07/08 is sportier than that big a** boat of a Marquis, lol.

Well, coming from an Audi RS6 AWD and V8TT with 530HP (450HP stock) I can tell you that the 7th Gen Maxima is very sporty to drive. Keep the revs up and deal with the steering wheel fighting you but other than that it handles well, shifts well (Ds or Manual) and inspires some confidence in corners at speed (something FWD does well). It's not supercar and won't win many steet races or 1/4 mile drags but for the money, fuel mileage and practical every day use I like it. This is my first Nissan.

I'm fairly impressed with the car so far. Any big HP increases and it would have to be a RWD or AWD car. It can barely handle the 290HP as it is. I don't know how the imports with massive HP in FWD cars keep the car from wrapping around a pole.

Keeping the platform the the same I think my ultimate 7th Gen Max would be:

Current body
Aftermarket Cat-Back Exhaust (Coming Soon)
Upper Stut Brace (Coming Soon)
Aftermarket Battery Tie Down (Coming Soon)
Power Folding Mirrors
No liability statement in the NAV system every time you use it (Hit Enter? Doh!)
Seats that don't rock or shake
Lowering Springs 1" (Coming Soon)
Rain Sensing Wipers
Heated Rear Seats
60/40 Folding Rear Seats (Standard)
Non-Sloping Trunk Floor
Upgraded Interior Dash/Trim Materials
Better Steering Wheel Controls (Volume placement is bad)
Paddle Shifters Made from Alloy/Metal not Plastic
More Footwell Room for Rear Passengers (under front seats)

I get complements all the time on the car and a lot of "what is it questions".

I meant to say '09 not '07, although since neither offers a Manual they are both somewhat worthless to me. Honestly, and no offense to those of you who like your automatics, when the day comes that I can't get a manual transmission in my car I am going to buy a rolling livingroom to drive. if I can't have driving enjoyment at least I am going to be comfortable.

Besides, I bet you could get a Mercury Marquis with a V-8, do about $3,000 in suspension & engine mods, and beat most cars on the road...all while looking like an undercover cop & never attracting attention from the Highway Patrol.
