Megan exhaust install problem

ok so i just got a Megan Cat-back, i know its not top of the line but i was on a budget, anyway i found myself getting very agitated very quickly when i went to install the resonator pipe that goes from the cat to the axle, it wouldnt fit because the bend right after the hanger was too large to fit around the corner so i ended up just attatching the muffler section only with the stock resonator and axle piping. Has anyone with a megan exhaust had this problem??? did i just get a bad pipe from megan or is this normal, and if it is, how did you fix it? also, it seems that the new exhaust is about 3-4 inches to short when lying next to the old one!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!

Take the short peice of the Megan with the 02 bung and put it between the cat and the megan resonator pipe. Thats how I did mine.

Ok, now when you say the short peice, i assume your talking about the peice thats supposed go between the end of the resonator pipe and the begining of the muffler, and if you are talking about that peice, how do i do that if the mid-peice is originally shaped to bend up and over the rear axle? thanks for the reply

No, its the peice maybe 10 inches long with a bend to it and a hole for an 02 sensor. Then the resonator section, then the peice that is bent to go over the axle, then the muffler.

That piece shoud be right after the cat.
97-99 Maximas have their O2 sensor after the cat, via this piping.

I am sorry that you are having such difficulty installing the megan cat. And while I don't have any input on your install, I can tell you that you will be very happy when all is said and done. The Megan catback may not be as expensive as the greddy or others, but it easily rivals them in performance, sound, aesthetics. Even if I had the money, I still would have chosen Megan over injen or greddy. Good luck with the rest of your install. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

95-96 only have 1 O2 sensor in the cat. 2 in the y-pipe, and one in the cat. That is all

OK, i figured out my problem, apparantly there was a slight change in the length of resonator piping during the 96 production year and Megan even specifies that when you order their exhaust but i didnt pay attention and i ended up ordering one with the piping too short, went to autozone and bought a length of 2.5in. piping, welded it to the resonator end and wahlaa!!! problem solved, now everything fits around every bend and curve, thanks for the help everyone!!!!!
