Headlight Bulb removal?
Not that I know of the SM states you have to remove the front bumper fascia I'm hoping that their is a shortcut found by someone, seems like an awful large amount of work.
^^ Ain't that the Truth. I did adjust the Aim on mine up a bit. The light pattern cuts off very Bluntly at the top. Going down a small hill or dip in a gutter and you can't see more than 20 feet ahead of you.
Please be careful adjusting HID headlamps so they will work going thru a gutter. These HIDs are very powerful, and have a long range. The top cutoff is by design, and with good reason. The low beams MUST be adjusted so the top beam cutoff is clearly below the eye level of oncoming trafic. I even keep my high beams somewhat lowered. You don't want to annoy oncoming traffic.
And why would you care if you blind oncoming traffic? Research has shown that 40% of drivers on the road today are under the influence of something that affects their driving judgement. Could be wine. Could be beer. Could be medication. Could be any form of illicit drug. Doesn't matter. These are folks you don't want mad at you. I don't know about where you live, but there are folks getting shot in Atlanta for just looking at someone the wrong way. And of course oncoming law enforcement officers take a dim view of being blinded.
Just after getting my 6th gen Maxima (with HIDs), I found oncoming drivers were continually flashing me to dim my lights, and I already had them on low beam. I took the car to the dealer, and he said the lamps were exactly on specs. I took the car home and lowered the beams using my garage wall and the diagram in the Owner's Manual, aiming them slightly lower than specs. Ended the problem. Of course there are instances (like your gutter) where I can't see upward, but those are rare. I prefer to sacrifice a tad of upward vision in order to increase my projected lifespan.
I can believe it. It's not so far fetched. They say even extremely tired people have the same driving ability as an intoxicated person.

MadMax - Not at all crap. You obviously don't watch the national news every day. That was covered on most of the national news programs several years back, and repeated in Consumer Reports and the AARP magazine. I have seen references to it several times since. The percentages you offer barely cover the folks who have maybe had one end-of-the-day wind-down beer or are on some type of medication. You are aware most of us old folks are on medication, I assume?
Where on earth do you think these tons of illicit drugs coming in from Mexico and Columbia and other places every day end up? Sometimes law enforcement officials break down their latest bust by announcing the street value as umpteen million bucks, and the number of 'hits' as umpteen thousand. Folks aren't giving these expensive drugs to their pets. For your own safety, you need to watch the news regularly, and find out who you are sharing the road with.
I don't believe it, simply because there's no way to verify the validity of any of the polls, surveys, or what they did to determine their figures. They also typically don't make clear what is considered under the influence, or for how long someone is on the road, plus speed limit conditions, which all play into those numbers strength and weaknesses.
For instance, if a guy has a beer on the way home from work, and is driving 5 minutes away on all back roads, that really doesn't count in my book, but did it in theirs? Someone that's putting 40+ miles at highway speeds 45mph+, takes antidepressants and had 4 drinks on the way home is a serious threat.
All I'm saying is, wherever you heard 40%, I think it's a bit over the top, and completely fabricated to say the least.

Those are horrible examples. Every individuals tolerance is different. I have and always will never comsume any alcohol before stepping into the drivers seat. Way too many of my friends or friends friends have either died or suffered severe injuries due to alcohol related incidents. Also, how many of the smokers you see on the road do you think are smoking weed or other illegal drugs? I think light is 100% right on this one.
Now, back to headlights...

You're missing my point. I'm saying that 40% is completely subjective, and largely made up, since they can add as many variables as they want to make their survey work in their favor, even make up a few things. Hell, there's enough people that couldn't pass an eye test, or would fail a driving/written test, we could lump them in, and get as high as 90% of the drivers out there being a danger to us all...

As for the headlights. I took a peek last night and it doesn't seem do-able without removing the fascia. The only possible way at all I could see is if you had child like hands?
