First time with 3.5 swap

Well guys it was my first time out after the swap. the weather wasn't the best....it has been pretty rainy lately and humid. so i think this setup has more in it.

i did realize that i REALLY need cams....my setup now doesn't really have very good top end and its kinda hurting my times right now. so cams will be in my near future well....enough complaining....

i was on Street tires and cut out open.....and only 1000' track...sucks...

1st Run:
60' 2.08
330' 5.78
1/8 8.85 @ 81.54
1000' 11.30 @ 92.57

2nd Run:
60' 2.11
330' 5.77
1/8 8.82 @ 82.03
1000' 11.26 @ 93.17

3rd Run:
60' 2.08
330' 5.77
1/8 8.83 @ 81.57
1000' 11.26 @ 94.22

Final Run:
60' 2.11
330' 5.81
1/8 8.87 @ 81.43
1000' 11.30 @ 94.00

i guess i'm ok with this setup. i was hoping it would be faster....but oh well. i'll get cams soon and my topend will be great. what do yall think?

edit: i just checked the DA and my track is at 300' and the DA today was 1317...so it should have a little bit more in it

nice man.. those 60fts are damn good... a couple things... what PSI do you run in your tires and what RPM do you launch at? and what other mods do you have besides the swap and cutout?

i don't know the exact PSI, i kinda do everything by how i think it should look or feel. probably low 20's. i was doing a very hard slip from about 4000...then maybe a second later i was flooring it....sorry i can't give better details...haha...my launching is different everytime probably....i just do it all my feel. slicks are the way to go though! lol

my mods are SSIM, Spacers, Headers. and i REALLY need cams...i should have waited to do the SSIM until i got cams....so i think my setup kinda sucks right now...it will be way better with them!

well its supposed too. i think the 350z IM is better though. all i know is that my 6800+ rpm sucks....it probably has the most to do with how the cam spacers where made. i won't REALLY take advantage of SSIM till i get cams then i'll be fine to go to 7400ish....it just doesn't make power up there right now at all.

And spray lol

Yeah i figured by looking at the 3.5 dynos that it would suck past 6800k. which sucks cause i love how my 3.0 revs.

40s timing might be overdoing it, I doubt it's making more power than low 30s or even high 20s.

Those times aren't bad at all, you're only trapping a couple mph lower than mine did in the 1/8th and thats with cam adapters... you should gain ALOT from that.

Come on - you know you want it - so do it! Spray it - even a 50-shot will suck out your rear glass! The SSIM really kills off the low end power, so that's part of what's happening. But the 3.5 lives for spray!

And no, you still can't have my old cams...

I just want to share some timeslips of my VQ35 swap (stock 3.5 cams, Cattman exhaust) with you to give you an idea.

Y-pipe:

2.315
9.012
13.782
104.126

Also:

Headers, but 80 lbs heavier and hotter weather:

2.137
8.885
13.680
104.544

First run is at around 3000 lbs raceweight and second is around 3080 lbs.

My car had good top end (105 mph) so I would expect your times to be around 13.80@101-102.
