SOLD: Refurbished 97-99 Steering Rack

SOLD
Several years ago I purchased a freshly refurbished 97-99 steering rack to install on my 96 Maxima when I pulled the engine out to install a fresh one with a Stillen SC. Well, like they say about "...the best laid plans of mice and men...," that plan never came to fruition, the supercharger kit is sold, so is the Maxima, and I'm working my way thru parts that I still have leftover.
I may be completely off base on this price (and I'm sure I'll hear about it if I am), but I'm asking $100 plus shipping. PM me if you have questions.

Hi, Curt.

I need a rack for my 95 but I am showing that a 97-99 rack will not fit. Can you clarify and quote shipping to 78251? Thanks.

Jeff

The 97-99 Maxima used a slightly different steering rack than the 95-96. I forget exactly what the difference was, but my recollection is that it was internal, not a fitment issue, and gave the steering a much better feel, took out some of the mushiness. That is the reason I bought it in the first place.
Shipping to Texas is $35.

Ah that's what that is. I have a 96 and 97 Nissan Maxima. The feel of the car is definitely different between vehicles (Other than one being a stock setup) but I just couldn't figure it out. This explains alot.

I just finished doing some checking, and the 97-99 SE had an "improved" steering rack, and the 95-96 SE and all GXE and GLE models from 95 thru 99 had the original design. And for anyone wanting to check out the company who re-manufactured this steering rack - who are specialists in doing this - they can be founld at http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...nAutoParts.com. And Courtesy Nissan tells me that a new steering rack goes for about $1000! I probably should have checked that out before I put the $100 price on this one.
