how to know if mirror is heated or non heated?

Just like the title of the thread says, searched the forum but was unable to find anything. my right passenger mirror got shattered, and when I’m looking into purchasing an new one I run into the options of heated and non heated, is there an easy way to find out what mine was?

Thanks before hand.

PS: If anyone has an right evergreen colored one with an good price pm me.

Also, if you have heated seats, it means you have the cold weather package which includes heated mirrors.

fold your mirrors, if you see and H with any combination of number that means its heated
if you have factory heated seats that means you have heated side view mirrors
if you take off your door panels and see if you mirror has 2 plugs to it you have heated side view mirrors/

Hope this helped

Well if one were to have done this upgrade, does it not stand to reason that they wouldn't be asking on the org whether or not they had heated mirrors?

Same question How do you ID A heated mirror?

I am looking to buy a used one. How do I identify whether it is heated or not? At the wrecking yard or if I buy off ebay?
A lot of sellers are not sure..
Thanks

Nope, I was wrong. I do have heated mirrors. I always park in the garage so I never had frost on them to tell.

So just to verify. If you don't have heated mirrors, the wires are already in the door so all you have to do is buy heated mirrors and plug them in?

You will need to tap into a power source and ground, you need to be able to turn it on and off, best way is to wire it up to your rear defrost

Another way to be certain is to pop the glass off the housing it just pries off but be careful not to break the clips when prying it off and you will see a white heating pad on the back of the glass. If they're not heated you could probably mod it if your handy. Most 3rd gens have heated glass.

they only turn on with rear defrost? i thought they were always turned on when the car turns on hmm... my suggestion to check would be to throw some snow on it and see if it melts faster than on the plastic part of the mirror body? lol

Can I add Heated Mirrors from another Maxima to my Maxima which does not come with them? Is the car already wired for Power Heated mirror ?

I really don't know the answer.

In general, the car companies find it is less expensive to have one main wiring harness for a car than separate ones for base, standard and luxury models rather than separate ones. There might be a sub harness between the main harness and the item you might want to install. So you might want to do research regarding the intermediate portions of the harness. That portion should be available at the local wrecking yard for little money.

I added heated mirrors a few years ago. The body side of the door harness has the wiring. You need to get a door harness with heated mirrors- just the heated mirror wires and de-pin just the heated mirror connector from the main door harness plug. Remember there location and re-pin them back into your old harness. Next you need to pull the heated mirror relay. The connector is there you just need the relay and mounting bracket.

Not sure what it is called but the body color painted part of the mirror is removable. If you are lucky and these look good on your car you can hunt for any color heated mirror and swap the painted section.

The rear window and mirror defrosters for 4th gens are all controlled by the defroster button.
