Dont' want greddy... WAYYYY too overpriced. Can't afford cattman. I am kinda leaning towards something nismo. I really like the sound a G35 and 350z make. Would that be too "rice" ya think? I do like those sounds and I am getting tired of my Magnaflow exhaust. It doesn't seem loud enough when I am on it, but pretty loud when I am not on it. Rather it get nasty loud like the G35 one does. Can that be an easy swap? Would I get a somewhat simalar sound? or is there more involved? Would the extra .5 liters make that much of a diff too?

It makes a difference. Your 3.0 will not ever sound like a G35.

Part of the problem lies with unequal length Y-pipe/headers.

Stick with OEM, you'll get less exhaust tickets

Also, I can't use youtube as a infinitive source of info for the sound because many people have different setups and the sound is not accurate especially with people having different cameras and ambient sounds in the area as well as most of them not really putting a load on the engine as well as the camera being rather close to the tailpipe which is also inaccurate. =/

at nismo exhaust

Seeing that you cant afford a real exhaust, you should stick with stock. You wont be able to get the sound you are looking for.

do you have stock piping? bigger piping than stock also helps with sound.

^^^just because you searched G35, 350Z dosent mean its going to sound like a G/Z. that muffler is the same muffler if you search maxima.

try ES Tuning muffler, it'll sound good and look a lot better than that ebay one...

I didn't, I have Stainless all the way back to my Stainless Magnaflow. I just don't care for the sound at high flow. Low flow it is very nice tho.

OP, you say you can't afford Cattman, but if you aren't in a hurry on the y-pipe, you can place an order for a Cattman Y now and save until he's done producing the new batch of 4th gen pipes that are in the works. That's what I'm doing. Just put your name on the list. They are probably more than what you find on eBay, but I suspect well worth the superior performance and sound. Just a suggestion.

Well then dont ***** about money. You know that it cost money. If you want quiet just go to NAPA and buy a stock one. Hell I have a brand new OEM muffler still in the box in my garage.

^ that's the one my GF has, but a thin single walled tip. It is so ridiculously loud without the silencer in. She also has a 18" res on there. Kinda mad cause it was my suggestion to get it as most others looked either cheap or ricey...

Does the stock 350z or G35 exhaust have a 2.5" inlet? I might just wanna do that. I can probably have a custom shop put hangers on it for me.
