I believe the thread measurement is 10 x 1.25 mm, the same as manual Mazdas.

I think if you're going to do your own chop, and are just chopping from the top of the lever, it would probably be easiest to get an aftermarket ****. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the set screws with generic aftermarket *****. You can try to rethread it, but I think you'd have to have the lever out of the car to do this.

I think the proper way to cut a lever, like a real STS, is not at the top of the lever, but more in the guts, although I don't really have any more specific details for this operation. I remember, because I considered chopping my own lever in my Integra, and read up on how to do it right, and how to just do it. It's been a while since I read up on short throw shifters and how they're different from stock.

Apparently a lot of people here are satisfied by just getting a shorter ****. I'd suggest a small spherical **** where the top of the lever will thread through close to the top of the sphere. This was enough in my Integra. I got my **** from www.teamvoodoo.com , the Miata ***** they have on there will work, and other people on the .org know of similar ***** made by other companies. I would try that before cutting anything. HTH a little!
