did i get taken or what?

took car to dealership for 2nd time in a week for ses light. 1st time was told it was the code 0455 and the gas cap i bought 2 days earlier would fix the problem. ecu was reset to clear ses light. on the way home ses light comes on again, take it back to dealership and this time it is the TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR, have no idea what this is. so ecu is reset and i leave dealership, and ses light comes on again on the way home. i noticed on the receipt that there was no code listed for the transmission revolution sensor problem. i think they didn't even run the diagnostic and just guessed what was wrong.

has anyone ever heard of/had problems with the transmission revolution sensor?

Next time go to AutoZone and have them read your codes for free.

Code readers are cheap AND generic enough to own your own.

+1. Though going to AZ to get it read is free, the time & hassle you avoid by grabbing your own is worth it. I bought my reader 6 years ago and it still serves me to this day. Granted you probably only use it when you have problems, but you can also help other people assuming they have a 96+ car.

Get someone who knows what their doing to look at your car. Dealers want your money, they want you in and out. Did you get the code checked youself? +1 on A.Z. Go from there. Any symptoms btw?
