4th Gen mod questions

What sorta power would i be lookin at if i got the JWT Intake, the Callman Y-pipe, and a catback exhaust (i am looking for a fairly quiet one with a tip that isnt too big... if ya know of one tell me)... i was hoping to be able to take my friends GS-T on a roll (i've never lost to him on a launch in ANY car)...

first of all...it's CATTMAN...not Callman

GS-Ts are pretty fast...you'll get maybe 15-20hp at best with the mods you are talking about...but i am being generous with the numbers because I don't know what condition your car is in...

I dont have a Y-Pipe, but from I've heard they are loud and even more loud with a cat-back...Go with the y-pipe and A-pex i. The only way you'll get a semi-quiet setup is stick with stock exhaust and put a Y-pipe on her...

As for the intake get a Cold Air

I think a 5-speed Maxima and a 5-speed GS-T are about as evenly matched as you can get... I raced one and we were exactly even until I forgot to shift from 1st to 2nd (it was my first real race), but with exhaust upgrades and intake you should be able to take him... especially off the line, since his turbo has to spool up...

I would say you would get 20-30hp from that...I would suggest a CAI instead of JWT, but the CAI are a lot louder. I like the way Greddy sound they are super obnoxious but they do have a low rumble. If you don't get an exhaust you don't have to worry about the car being too loud. Y-pipes aren't really that loud...but if he hasn't done anything to his eclipse GS-T or small bolt on you should toast him from the role if you both are 5spd!!! I take those all the time it is the ones with an intercooler and bigger turbos that are harder to take.
