Quick and dirty power antenna mast replacement

I watched pmohr's video of the power antenna replacement (nice job on all the videos BTW) but I only need to replace the mast.

It's not even broken, but evidently the plastic "track" that the power thingy drives is stripped. I did this years ago to a 1994 Infinity J30, and it was sooo easy, I just can't remember what the trick was.

Didn't come up with anything in a search, anyone remember how to thread the new mast and plastic coil back into the power unit???

4th gen antenna replacement

My motor makes noise when I turn the radio on and off so I guess its OK but I'd sure like to know how to install the mast I just bought. It didn't come with instructions and I don't want to screw it up trying to guess how it goes together. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

It'll take to people.

1. Take the chrome screw cap off the antenna assembly.
2. Have your helper turn the radio on. (this will sent the mast up)
3. As the mast comes up pull gently towards the bottom. (you'll see the plastic strip with gear teeth on it.)
4. Pull the mast and plastic strip out, paying attention to which way the gear teeth are facing.
5. Take your new antenna mast and feed it in, plastic strip first, with the gear teeth facing the same direction the old one was. Feed it in until you feel resistance on it.
6. Have your helper turn the radio off. (this will turn the motor and pull the mast down with it)
7. The mast should be completely in. Put the chrome screw cap back on.

Youll probably have teeth from the rope gear, or a whole section, left behind in the "motor". You may have to tear it apart and clean those out.

Ah, yes. A very good possibility. Thats also not hard to do. Pretty self explanatory when you look at it.
