Fender bender .. can u guesstimate ?

i'm just wondering how much it'd cost to fix ... haven't approached a bodyshop yet but in the darkness of Yosemite valley (8pm?), I missed one but hit another deer within few yards at maybe 40-45 mph ... the door is kinda jammed and i can open it barely to enter/exit the car ... here is the picture of the dent ... can u plz guess how much it might cost to fix ? my collision deductibles are high (1000), well so is the mileage on the car (174k) ...

my fender cost me 50 to replace and door cost me 100 from junkyards,
paints gonna be 300 at least from a decent shop.
of course a reputable shop could fix that door probably.

thx for ur replies ... there is a junkyard near by and i'll checkout if i can get a fender ... i got a quote from a body shop for $1500 to fix it all ... i don't want to go thru insurance actually ... been paying insurance for the past 6 yrs without a claim ever but if i go thru insurance for this one, my rates may go up quite a bit given that companies in this recessionary environment are just looking for reasons to get more out of customers ..

anyways, if i hv to go thru insurance, will this come under 'Comprehensive' ? i read couple posts in online forums and looks like it comes under comp .. can anyone confirm ?

also, anyone is bay area (ca) has to deal similar situation .. any help is appreciated ... thanks ....

Wow you got hit in the EXACT spot as me, except it didn't go through to the door. And your quote was a little more than mine, but mine was about $1100 just for replacing the fender and paint.

I have similar damage, but my fender is much worse. It was the second time I got hit in the same spot of the same road. The first was around 8 years ago. Anyway, I already bought a new fender and have a feeling I'll be looking the the junk yards for a door. 1500 seems outrageous to me, but I really have no idea what goes into body work. Good luck getting your car back to normal.

Oh, and about your insurance question, when I contacted Progressive, they told me acts of God were only covered under comprehensive insurance.

In car-part.com, I found couple fenders from the wrecks... I'm just wondering if a 96 maxima fender will fit a 98 I30. Any idea ? I'm guessing all A32s have the same size fenders be it Maxima or I30 ...

Watch out for salvage value if you have a shop fix it. Insurace companies dont like fixing high mileage cars.
