Converting Auto to Manual, Questions!!!

Ok so i bought a Maxima thats been in an accident (front end) for cheap cheap cheap...like $180 cheap. This car has been babied, its mint. Minues the front end damage.

Anywho all it needs is a rad support which is no issue to install. I have my current maxima which is getting supercharged but needs its body repainted and rocker support redone. So this is where I am.

I have a few questions as I have all the front end parts from my 1997 maxi that will go on the 1999 max.

First off, this maxima is Auto and mine is Manual. I know this can be tranfered over but how hard is it? Can I put my 1997 ECU (manual) to replace the auto, is there any modifications required?

Is it simple as install the tranny, pedal, shifter, etc etc basically all the parts for the manual setup and just install the manual ecu and ur ready to go?

Any help would be great. My only concern is the electricals! If all i need to do is swap the ecu ill be happy! Even if I have to get a 1999 manual ecu thats no problem.

Thanks!

Ok so apparently the auto ecu will work minus check engine lights. So this swap is not so bad at all!

And i did see the how to! it never said anything about the ecu

Thanks for the links!

i have questions about this conversion. in the write ups it say that if you have ABS u need ABS driveshafts, i was wondering if you have ABS can you use ones w/o ABS and it'll work fine (just no ABS) is this true??
