My friend says he plans on doing this. I want to know if it's possible. Thanks

You want to take the ballast from the 2k2-2k3 HID's? There's a little bit more involved than just switching the bulb.

If you and your friend are serious about HID's ... go to HIDplanet.com and do some research.

It may be a lot easier and cheaper to just go for a plug and play kit. They sell them in the group buys section of this site.

I must say though, the 5.5gen headlight reflectors are shaped specifically to have a very controlled cutoff (for reflector type headlights anyway) which is why they can be used with HID's. The 4th gen housings are absolutely horrible in this regard and spew light EVERYWHERE. If you put HID's in the 4th gen housing without first retrofitting them with projectors, it will blind a lot of people on the road and most likely get you pulled over by the police. Believe me, I know from first hand experience. I have my lights pointed all the way down as low as they go and it still doesn't quite do the job.

/thread.

And yes it would be cheaper to just get one of those plug n play gets, unless he somehow has a set of 5th gen ballast+bulbs laying around...

If you still have questions after reading that thread then post away my friend.

i think a direct fit would be really hard since the bul size for a 4th gen is 9004, and for 02-03 its d2s i think but it woiuld alos require some type of wiring mod so instead of all this you can go and get a plug and play hid kit for $80
