Changing Fro and Rear Motor mounts

I Attempted to change out the front mounts and the rear mounts the other day, but the bolts on the mounts were so tight on here i couldnt even get my air tools to take them of....I used a Husky Air rachet at 150psi (yes it was in the right direction) and i also tried a beaker bar. Couldnt find any write ups on this....so anyone got advice?

The obvious answer is use some liquid wrench or something like it and let it soak for an hour or two and try again. If your replacing the mounts then you can try heating up the bolt with a torch. This breaks some of the rust apart and helps the bolt move a little easier. You dont have to get it red hot or anything either. I have doen it in the past or rusty exhaust pats and it worked well.

i have a can of PB blaster but didnt think to use it...ill give it a shot again in a week or two and I might provide a write up since I could not find one for the Front and Rear mounts and Haynes doesn't really have much information on it

That stuff is awesome. I had to remove my axles a few weeks ago and the axle nuts wouldnt budge...not wit air tools, and I broke my breaker bar. Sprayed some PB Blaster on it, went to go get another breaker bar, came back and they came off easy.

I think even the Ingersol Rand 1/2" air ratchets only put out like 55 ft/lbs of torque. PB blaster and a 24" breaker bar and maybe a cheater bar are always what I use when a 450 ft/lbs impact won't fit.

A write up with pictures would be great, as I will be doing mine shortly.

My friend + His Dad + Their combined strength on a breaker bar = no match for Miata's rear axles....

PB Blaster + 2 Minutes = Removal of rear axles

True story, I should get pics of the bent breaker bar (well it's really a pipe lol)...

Also +1 on the writeup, sometime far in the future I could use a rear mount.
