04 I35: HID Question

The HIDs on my 04 I35 have been flickering out on me at random times recently, so I assume that the bulbs need to be replaced. I've checked the usual stores, but they have no bulbs for this car, and I'm NOT going to get robbed by the dealer for this.

So...

1. What bulb type is used in these cars for HIDs? Any specific brand?
2. Am I safe to assume the factory color on these HIDs is ~4300K?
3. Brand recommendations for a replacement?
4. Should I look into new ballasts also?

Thanks!

Looks like HIDplanet is out of business as far as selling to the public goes. Their forum states they only sell wholesale.

Any other ideas outside of eBay? Do any of our fine sponsors sell bulbs without the full conversion kits?

Look in the Parts For Sale / Trade section or post a thread in the Want To Buy / Trade

Sponsors here sell aftermarket bulbs not OEM Philips as I suggested however a set of aftermarket bulbs will also get the job done.

I would check the voltage and the connection before the bulbs...when HID bulbs start to go they emit a different color light, not flicker. The flickering can be a number of thiongs though so do your homework. G/L

Let me help you there with your questions

1. No because 10000K is retarded, you would lose 75% of your usable light output

2. OEM headlights are best

3. Search if you want pics, there is a thread up top with members' cars

Those ebay dual angel eye headlights will give you horrible output......you can take out the low beam projector and retro a proper HID projector for better lighting. And as for 10,000K Nope, we here actually want to see where we're going.
