I'm running 245/45/18s on my max. I've got them on SE-Rs no problems with rubbing, I had to take the splash guards off though to clear them for hard turns. It ribs a little bit when I make a super hard u turn to the left but that's it. Other than that I never bottom out or scrape or anything like that. Even on really hard drops, drive ways and speed bumps. So you should be fine

I did some research and learned what coilovers are. But our car doesnt use them stock. Why put them on? And why do u need them if u are doin a OOVI swap?

Anybody?

What are you talking about? What the heck do coilovers have to do with an 00vi?

Why put them on? Some people want to be able to adjust the ride height of their car, or have stiffer springs than any of the regular spring offerings.

Anyways, that combo would result in rubbing when turning the wheel all the way to lock, and possibly some slight rubbing on the fenders under really hard cornering like you'd see on a track, if you're in to that.

No prob, I know what's it like to have a question and olnit be able to get a legit answer. But you don't have to run an 00Vi to have coilovers or vice versa. The 00vi is basically ur intake manifold system swapped from a DE-k motor from a 2000-2001 motor. Coilovers are supension and replace your struts. They work independently of one another so it's driver prefernce to use them or not. I was running tein super streets but that was on an older max. Runing stock struts now. Hope that helps bro

what offset are your rims? thats what matters the most. had a set of +35 and they never rubbed with the same tires you want. +30 on the other hand always rubbed when it bounces around.. oh i'm lowered 2.2

bro, have you consider taking it down a notch?? im rollin on 225/45/18 and they are perfect, no rubs or nothin... im dropped pretty good too.. maybe if you took it down to 225, youll be set and ready to roll with no rubbin... I rubbed in my bmw but i rolled the fenders so no more rubbing problem...whenever i drove and hit a bump i used to feel and hear rub but i switched to 600lb springs and it was good after that..

I was running 245/35/18 (I think, I don't quite remember though) with H&R's (~1.3) without any rubbing.

225/40/18 tires will bend your rims. I know for a fact cause i ran smaller tires for a while cause they came with the rims. I was from central jersey and know how bad pot holes can be in jersey and in ny. You need at least 235/40/18 otherwise once you hit a pothole, your rim is gonna be bent. If you want to save your rim more, i would go with a 225/45/18

you should just put some 17 inch rims n tires on it and save the headache. i plan to get ksport lowering springs 2.2' frt n 2' rear and put these rims on my 96 max.
