97SE part out or sell?

I have fully loaded(every option available)97 SE auto trans with 138K miles on it. All stock with the exception of new rims last week. I just developed a leak around the windshield due to a little rust. There is no other visible rust anywhere on the car. But with me being in MI, this is probably a sign of more rusting to be found. Should I sell it, fix it, or part it out? Trade in value looks to be about $1800 and private party sale could get me close to $3K. How much can i get for a part out? I'd hate to get rid of it because the car is in fantastic shape and runs perfect. I bought this car brand new and I still love it just as much as the day I bought it.

138K miles for our car is nothing. These cars were designed to run till 200k+ miles.

That being sd...1800 bucks as a trade in isnt worth it. Cuz the money u save from keepin the car for however long it keeps running will be well over 1800 bucks. And lets not even talk about the car payments for another car. I hate the F word: financing

BUT...if u got the cash and want something new then thats a different story. 1800 as a trade in is about right. 3k for private party is about right too. Parting out? Who wd u part the car out to? Thats a long shot i think. THe Junk Yard will give u a price and it will be pennies so dont part it out.

thats my .02

If its everything is working fine, then list it for sale. It took me almost a year to sell one of my cars. No need to part it out, plus I dont think you would get anything close to the listed price of $3k if you part it out. Not to mention time, effort and space. If you are ballin' for a new vehicle then trade it in...lol
