new here....my intro 95 gle cali spec auto

Hello
I'm new to Maxs and your forum.

Thought I'd introduce myself

Just picked up a 95 gle auto with 126k from its orig owner, older guy here in ny

Cars really clean and complete. White with tan leather. Loaded with cold package too.

Has some small needs, strut mounts are gone along with all front end bushings and holes in the muffler. Belts are new but squeel on start up. Needs gas to start, or will die/stall immediately and abs light is on too.

Paid $1250 which I thought was great for a 1 owner

I'm a car guy and a complete BMW nut, the car will be my wife's dd. I'm a decent DIY wrench and am pretty excited about the new toy. I can't leave any car I own alone, love cool mods and perfecting my rides. Hate amber and 95 tail lights so light upgrade in the works! Wheels too, but I believe in doing mechanical maintenance 1st

Any feedback or pointers are appreciated! Pics soon

welcome man. enjoy the maxi....

First thing first, clean Throttle body with carb cleaner, and MAF sensor with MAF cleaner. Prolly will get rid of stalling issues.

i went to da sticky and found this and i used this to find out if my car is cali spec or fed spec..

So how do I tell if my car is Cali or Fed spec?

Raise your hood. Look for a shiny metal identification tag fastened to the passenger side of firewall. The top row is the Vehicle Identification Number, starting with J. The second row is model information. The first five characters are BLHUL. The 12th character is the destination:

N = Canada
V = California
U = US, not California

I'm enjoying the project, but it's also killing my wallet lol. I am replacing as much as posible while im in there.
