Degree settings for HR cams

Sorry if this is a newbie question.. or if its already been discussed...

I'm looking at getting some HR cams for my 3.5 and i'm new to this, but my friend just opened a shop and is willing to do the work for me.
What I want to know is if the cams would just drop in or would I need to use some sort of adapter!? I'm sure, but I just thought i'd ask.

The other question I got from him was at what degree do you set the cams when installing!? Like i said, its all new to me but i'm learning.

Thanks in advance!!

I would get the rev up cams if you are looking for more performance. They're more aggressive than the HR.

So am i able to use the HR cams without modification? Im on a budget and my friend's willing to work on it for me practically for free... not to mention i was offered a steal of a deal! These cams for under 200! I cant go wrong with them...right!?
Help.... someone!?

Theres a guy selling a set of RevUp cams on My350z , you need to be a memeber.

Now if your running the 3.0 timming chain and sprockets than the Revup should be a simple drop in.

As I found out the RevUp as VTC on the Exhuast cams , which the bolt is longer than the DE cams.

I had to find a grade 10 bolt in replacement but im fully VQ35DE

LOL, you're the guy who made that thread about the cam bolt being too long. Classic, how no one could help but seems like alot of those guys just pay someone else to work on their cars

I had seen that one, but then I saw the set of HR's for cheaper.... didnt think they were much different. Like I said, I really dont know much about degrees, lift, etc.. but i'm trying to learn... I just pm'ed the guy.

This will be the second time a shop works on my car. I've done all the work myself, with help from my bro. The only time they did was when I bought the headers on my 3.0... I didnt have time to work on it.

So are the REVup's that much different in power from the HR's!? I know they have the same lift and duration, but do those 2degrees in the intake and exhaust really make that much difference?

Are there any markings on REv up cams that can be detected to determine they ARE REV up cams!?

The guy selling them posted this:
^ ??? im not a mechanic or a shop owner... all i said was: im pretty sure they are oem replacement but please consult a shop...

It so happens, that I happened upon your question while searching....
Here's post by Nismology regarding RevUp cams.

There's pictures in that thread about it too.
