what LEDs are you running in your front turn signals?

edit:to newcomers im turning this thread into a pic thread. lets see your outside led setups!

ive had nothing but fitment issues or lack of reliability with all the sets ive tried. i was wondering what anyone might be running for 1157's in their 00-01

i was looking at these http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...1156-x18-T.htm

they look fine, but i know nothing of the rep of this seller or the quality of their product.

feedback???

superbright leds are pretty reputable

mine are v-leds (I forgot what bulb size mine are), but I got the brightest ones I could get.

If you're using LED's for your turn signals you'll need load resistors or else your turn signals will blink too fast.

For my led turn signals in my 97 max, I actually got some from autozone, they were 1157's as well and suprisingly didn't need load resistors.

weird... i go autozone wedge LEDs for my rear blinkers (rewired to reverse lenses) before swapping out the front incandescents, and they still blinked twice as fast. eh well. i probly will get the load resistors anyway before maxus.

I have these... http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/T...14824-1-2.html

A bit pricey, but they work like a charm. All my LEDs (inside & out) are from V-leds

just ordered the high power tower style that i linked you to in my first post. pricewise, and after hearing the positive feedback people have for them, i think its the best choice. that, and vleds is out of stock of the style i need. thanks again everyone, will post pics when theyre installed.

can someone post feedback on how they found their leds in direct sunlight? This was the one reason I switched back to normal bulbs a few years ago - you could barely see them during the day..

i feel like the next gen "high power" leds will show up better, their output is something like 2W, higher than earlier led replacements. ill lyk how they show up when i get them. i think thatll be when this should be turned into a picture thread exhibiting everyone's led setups.

What's the best "model" for light output? Cuz there's towers and there's also these:

I'm askin specifically for the 1157 (turn signal)

those will never fit, even closed. thats why i was running into so many issues. id order bulbs that were too big in diameter to fit the housing. the ones i ordered (see link in op) are no wider than the socket itself, so they fit NP.

Wow... you know what... I didn't even fully analyze those LEDs... you're right, they won't fit as the diameter of that style is much larger than the actual socket hole.

Thank you so much for your input... I guess I'll stick to the LED towers for the corners. I'm even thinking of going with the VLEDs type 1 bulbs (parking lights = white but blinker = amber), they're expensive but definitely exotic compared to any other after market lights.

you dont need load resistors, you probly just had cheapo leds. say bye bye to cruise control when switching to led tails though. the cc module operates off the tail light voltage as a signal, and the different current draw from the leds makes the cc act funny and just not come on. dunno if load resistors will correct this or not.

If you dont want the hyper blink and want your LED's to last longer (and dont wanna look like a ricer ) you need to get the load resistors. I have the 48 LED SMT towers on the front and rear blinkers. fronts i have the orange and rear I have the red. I will post my demonstration also
