Maxima Starter Will NOT turn over after new transmission install.

I finnaly got my new transmission in the max and everything together me and my brothers been working on it the last 9 hours and Can not find out why the starter will not turn over. i gave it direct power so it still works. I've checked every fuse in the entire car 3 times their all good. for the last 4 years the ignition switch wouldn't start unless you giggle the key when starting but would start everytime no problem once you get it down.

maybe my ignition switch went out? or what could be the problem? i tested volts at the signal wire and it was not getting any power while turning the key.

Which bolt on the starter are you supposed to ground? Also, do you ground to chassis or negative terminal on battery?

automatic or Manual.

If it's a manua; I'd suspect the clutch pedal switch.

Did you reconnect the neutral start switch (either MT or AT)

If MT, check the crankshaft position sensor (its at the bottom front of the trans with 2 little bolts), the car will act dead without it. It's easy to forget about.

I had this happen to me on my 5spd. Put the flywheel and the hub that mounts to it incorrectly, instead of in front of the flywheel I put in it the back of the flywheel and it made contact with the the engine, so it wouldn't spin freely. Open up the access to the flywheel and try to move it with a large screwdriver. Hope that helps.
