Hey everyone -

I am working with a local custom shop to build a fiberglass sub enclosure for my Max that would replace the spare tire. While BS-ing with the guy doing the work, I asked him if he had any interest in creating a mold and offering it as a custom piece to anyone with a 6th gen Max, and he said absolutely.

So, This is really just a feeler to gauge interest and see if anyone has any desire for this? I don't have much in terms of details yet like what size sub, multiple sub, etc - but I should have that info soon. I'm hoping to bring my car over this weekend for a fiberglass pour so at that point we can see what will/won't fit.

Based on interest, I might ask him if he's willing to do a group buy and offer it at a discounted price. I'm not looking for anything out of the deal for myself, just looking to help bring a cool product to the market

Anyway, if you are even a little interested pending price (I have no idea what the cost will be - that is still to come as well) please post and I'll know to respond to this thread with some info on it and pictures.

Anything that negates the spare tire is going to meet with less consideration. What I mean, a smaller percentage of interested parties will actually consider the option, because the deal breaker is the missing tire. At least, that's the deal breaker for me.

Something custom that takes up either one side, or under the rear deck would meet with a lot more consideration...

Definitely not looking for people to say they want one, only that they would be interested in seeing the finished product (and based on that may be interested in getting in on a group buy). Again, I am not making anything from this deal but thought it would be a cool idea and could pass along a good sound mod.

I thought about a box for the side of the trunk, but honestly those have never interested me much. Most people these days have AAA or some other free roadside assistance (which I also have) so not having a spare tire is no big deal. I get to keep my trunk space and kick up the bass a bit - so it's a win/win.
