Knock Sensor harness - Correct Part Num?
Knock Sensor harness - Correct Part Num?
So this will without a doubt be my my dumbest post yet but, I just need to confirm i got this correct. I put in a new knock sensor and took the risk of not replacing the harness. Oh well, code is still there, grounds seem fine so might as well replace the 16 year old harness.
On Courtesy parts, there doesn't seem to be a part called a knock sensor harness. Is the following the correct part number/name for what I'm looking for (KS sub-harness). it looks like its the right part, but looks have deceived me before.
Pertinent info: 1995 Maxima (probably GLE if that matters, never really decoded it), NOT Cali emissions (if that matters)

That looks like the part, but best to call Courtesy they are always very helpful about this kinda stuff.
I am having the same problem with mine, I changed the sensor, and still get the code. Weird thing on mine is I had 2 cel codes initially; 0325 knock sensor and 0443 for evap solenoid
I cleared the codes once, they both came back on same day together. I replaced the knock, cleared the codes assuming the evap code would come back. 1-2 days later I get a cel with both codes again.
Are u getting other codes with your knock sensor code? All my reading/research doesn't link my 2 codes together. I have to check all my grounds and harness .....

Conincidence
michaele30, I perked up as I read your post. I'm currently getting P0325 (Knock Sensor), P0400 (EGR something lol) and P0443 (I think ECPVCV).
So we have 2 out of 3 the same. Mine is a 1995, and I think the P0443 code means different things on 4th gens since the Evap Canister is in the front some years and rear some other years, even within the 4th gen. Though even that's a confusing topic in some posts I've read.
So yes, we have similar codes. I don't personally think they are related, but I suppose they could be but to me (a novice) it doesn't make too much sense. I think my ECPVCV (Evap Canister Purge Volume Control Valve) in mine is in the back, behind the left wheel well.
To me, its more likely that my P0400 and P0443 codes are linked than the P0325 and P0443, but even then its probably a stretch. Personally, on a 16 year old car I'm pretty sure I've just got 3 very separate/distinct issues. I'd rather get the KS taken care of with the sensor and harness (both inexpensive) and move on from there beofre trying to find a solution that would cure both...since I dont think such a solution exists :-)
One thing to keep in mind with P0325 is that it won't trigeer your CEL light. Certain codes do and certain ones don't, and P0325 doesn't. So next time you clear your codes, run them again immediately and your P0325 might still be there. The P0400 is what's triggering your CEL, not the P0325. if the P0325 doesn't clear, check other posts on here for next steps, as a P0325 that doesn't clear has been discussed in other threads.

Thanks for the confirmation on not being the only one out there. My car is a cali spec so my evap is up front. That's next on my list due to cel, but I will search more on 0325 not clearing. Thanks again and follow up!
knock sensor "only" no other code
I have a 1999 maxima and I'm getting P0325 code and nothing else. No mil light. I clear it and drive around for a while and it eventualy comes back. The car runs great! Excellent MPG. Use high test. What is the most likely cause? Can car pass NY inspection? I've read the threads on replacing it and it dosen't sound like fun. Any help on this is appreciated.
