Everytime i clena IAC it idles high 4 days later.

I cleaned my Idle air control valve 3 time. it will idle perfect for a few days and then go back to that annoying 1500rpm idle. first time i cleaned it it was pretty dirty i got it completely clean it worked for a month then high idle came back. cleaned it again and good for a week. i just cleaned it once more again and here 4 days later high idle is back!

it wasn't even that dirty 3rd time i cleaned it whats the problem? i used carb cleaner and throttle body cleaner if that makes a difference.

Thanks,

The motor inside the IACV control the valve may be sticking. Check IACV functionality per FSM.
REmove IACV. Turn key "ON" and "OFF". the valve inside the IACV should open and close smoothly. might jus need a new IACV...200 bucks at AZ

A high idle could be caused by a number of different problems. The first thing I'd check is a vacuum leak, but you said it worked fine for a few days so that's probably not the culprit.
Have you tried to reset the TPS? Have you checked the TPS closed switch? Do a search for that and you'll find quick fixes.

I recently had trouble with rpm rattling while in idle. It never happens in the winter so I'll be checking the ECTS.

I disassembled the IACV yesterday. The valve slided back and forth easily when I applied voltage. I took of the step motor to check the valve. It was clean but it is loose. Could the bearings be worn?

There's a thin mounted nut on the valve that you can tighten or lossen to vary how far it slides. If I tighten it up will it decrease the RPM rattling while idling?

IACV shouldn't be cleaned at each gas tank fill up....if you have idle problems , those maybe related to other issues
