Suspension Predicament

Ok here's the deal, I just had my front struts replaced about 2 months ago. Rear struts were looked at but were said to be in good condition. A few weeks ago, I decided that I want to lower my car.
This is where I am in a bind. I don't know whether to keep the stock struts and just do a mild drop (1.5) with some quality springs OR buy used KYB GR2 struts that are being sold for $200 with a more aggressive drop (2.2-2.0). Now I know most people say to not put lowering springs on OEM struts because the ride will be terrible. However, if they are new will it be a big problem? I am your every day driver going to work and such.

Post up some opinions because I have read numerous threads and cannot come up with a conclusive answer to my predicament . Some say it will be ok while others say I will blow my struts.

Even though the OEM struts are fairly new, with even a slight drop the ride is going to suck and they blow prematurely.

No matter what drop you decide to go with, at least get performance struts such as the AGX's, Illumina's or Koni's. The GR2's and Blues are stock replacement struts.

I would agree with what Chris said. I am running stock struts, and just like you new struts up front, original 167k mile rear struts with 2.2-2.0 drop. The ride isn't unbearable where I drive, which is mostly in the city, but on the freeway, where it isn't always fairly smooth, it's a whole different story. Thats where the ride is rough, unless the asphalt is nice and smooth.

Its not unbearable, even with an aggressive drop and stock struts, but depending on road conditions, it will vary.
