New clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder for soft clutch

After searching it appeared as though I needed a new master and slave for my clutch. It would occasionally get soft after driving for awhile, and even would not go into gear a couple of times. The LEVEL of the fluid didnt seem to be the problem, but I decided I'd do the bleed procedure that was outlined in a thread I found to make sure there was no air. The fluid looked a little dark, so I decided I change that too.

After doing all that the clutch stayed on the floor. I tried pumping it, redoing the procedure, Levitra, Cialis, **** - nothing I did would make it come back up. So the next morning I got in the car and the clutch was fine. It's been fine since, though it was a little soft when I first got in the car leaving work today. BUt is it possible that a fluid change and bleed would fix it? I'm still going to put on the new parts, but I kinda hate "if it aint broke don't fix it" situations like this. I got the clutch and slave for ~$80 so I guess it makes sense just to go ahead and do it.
