Master Cylinder

Hello,

Does anyone know how much an OEM 1996 maxima master cylinder costs?

Also does anyone know what the part number is?

Also don't forget to check autozone, advance and o'rielys....

IMO I'd buy the rebuild kit from courtesy it's $19+shipping, that's what I'm doin w/ one lying around here.

Slit in master cylinder cap???

Can anyone help with this.... I was doing my brakes (1999 max) and when I took the cap off for the master cylinder I noticed the rubber lining in the cap had a little barely noticible slit in the center of it. Should it be there? Is it a vent? Could anyone out there take a look. Thanks much.
