My moms friend promised to teach me how to rebuild alternators like 2 years ago in exchange for me doing some work on his Mercury Grand Mistake... I think I will remind him that there is some unfinished business between us. Thanks for the reminder lol

Its been a long time since I bothered rebuilding, instead of replacing, an alternator but my experince with other motors suggests that the stator windings are just "laquered" into the housing and just need to be pressed out... gently.
The exploded view in the FSM seems to confirm this, there is nothing special holding the stator into the housing. Perhaps some penetrating oil would help to break any corrosive grip the housing might have on the stator.

Heat gun did the trick. Didnt use th torch, wanted to be careful.

Apply heat to the alternator case and it expands. The stator and brush asssembly pop right out.

NOT OUT of the woods. Have to put it back together.

Paint marks are for alignment

I want to know how to slightly bump up the voltage on these. A DIY write up would be nice.

I think this is a function of the voltage regulator.

Are you sure you dont mean amps? Thats a function of the alternator design also.
