I did some searching and couldnt find anything really good on brake pads, rotors, ect.

Im in need of some new brakes. Can you guys tell me what ya'll recommend? Im assuming all I need at this point is pads and new rotors. But the more info the better. Maybe we can sticky this if we get enough input? thanks guys!

if thats not really justified, brembo blanks are supposedly good. hawk pads are supposedly good.

i just put on some hawk hps pads and they grip hard, ive heard they dust a lot though...

 

i use axxis ultimate kevlar-ceramic. I LOVE these things! initial bite is great and they you should never ever be able to see fade.

I looked at the brake section of that but didnt find anything specifically for 4th gens.

 

Don't waste your $$$ on fancy rotors. Go to your local auto parts store and buy the cheapest blank you can find. Paint the hub area with high temp paint to keep it from rusting. The pads are what give you the grip on the rotor. Hawk's are really nice.
Don't forget to flush the brake fluid when you do the job. Brake fluid is hydroscopic by nature (absorbs moisture). Fresh fluid will give you a firmer pedal help keep your brake system in good condition.

Nice, thanks for the info. So slotted or drilled rotors arent all that great? I was looking at some duralast rotors and brembo blanks

 

I like my $18 centric rotors (amazon) and akebono ProAct pads. Hawk pads are nice too if you're driving aggressively but ceramic pads are quieter and don't dust as much. (or grip as aggressively) It's really important to choose pad material based on how you drive the car. There is no such thing as a perfect all around brake pad that does everything well.
