I have 3 options for my suspension choice. I can get Tein H. Tech for $230 shipped, Eibach Pro for $270 shipped, or Ground Control Coilovers for $415 shipped. I like the Tein H. Tech, especially the ride height with the front and back, but heard many different opinions, reviews, I like Eibach pro because of its reputation and good ride, but its not low enough in the front. I heard many good reviews about the Ground control coilovers and its also height adjustable and works well with stock shocks. I do plan on purchasing a set of tokico later on.
I was wondering if I can get any more opinions about the Ground Control coilovers with the Maxima as they're hardly online. I also created a poll too.

I plan on buying one of these by the end of this week, as I plan on getting one installed next week. Thanks in advance.

 

Ummm who told you Ground Control coilovers was a good idea on stock shocks?? Ground Controls arent even good on adjustable struts. You might want to do some more research.

Are ya'all speaking out of experience? If you have Eibach, great, but have you had Tein and then switched to Eibach for a specific reason?

If you really want to make your car perform better then go with Tein SS coilovers.
Not cheap but if I had too do it over again I would definately go that route.

 

Eibach. I've installed them many many times, for good reason.

 

Never had Eibachs, but I've had H-techs and they were harsh as ****. Ground Control are garbage from what I've heard.

its what I'm doing. add up the cost of springs/shocks and all the other stuff you need to go with those. then find a decent pair of coils and compare. this is what i was told to do.

That's what I thought. I have Tein SS Coilovers on my list of future modifications and couldn't understand why everyone seemed to be swearing by Eibachs.

 

Or if you can't afford $1200 coils, you could consider Tokico Illumina struts w/ Progress springs. Nice stance and I've heard good things. That'll run you somewhere in the vicinity of $600...

 

Thanks for all the replies. I've decided against the GC coilovers. I've dropped all my cars that I've had in the past 10 years and didn't get the GC's, so, there must a reason why that is. I'm either getting the Eibach, H.tech, or full coilovers off ebay.

 

I went ahead and purchased the Eibach springs. My inspection is coming up soon, and I wanted something stealthy and the springs are black. I don't want the safety inspector looking under and seeing a colored suspension. If you lower a car here, you have to go through another (and much stricter) inspection. All in all, I think this was the best choice for my entire situation. I probably will add in some new shocks after Christmas. Looks like I complied with the majority in the poll. Thanks again for the replies and advice. I had Eibach pro and sportline on my other cars, and I like the ride.

 

I didn't know that the rear dropped so much more than 1". Even though the specs were conservative at F-1.3" R-1.0", you can really tell that its a dropped car now. The rear tires are almost tucked under the fender.

 

Yea, the Eibach's suffer from an ever-so-slight uneven look in the rear (compared to the front)

But in all seriousness, my Ksport coilovers sit higher in the rear than that. Of course, I have yet to drop them down some...

 

I know illumina's and progress is a good combo, but what about hp blues and progress?

 

I wouldn't put lowering springs on Blues.

I'm seriously considering Vogtland's suspension kit. I have alot of friends heavy into the Audi and VW scene, and a few Porsche's as well, and alot of those guys run Vogtland or H&R's. Both of those brands have had years of proven racetrack R&D. Just something to consider...

 

Nvr go with ground control unless you want to be a honda! they bounce all over when you hit a tiny bump.

 

And that would be because of a brand name?
