you should divide it in to a few different lists like Turbo, Supercharger, Nitrous, All motor, bolt ons, motor swap, stock, 4th gen, 5th gen, 6th gen, 7th gen, etc like they do on my350z.com otherwise it's exactly the same list as the Timeslip link at the top of the page.

You don't necessarily have to use all of those categories but dividing it out somewhat would make it easier to search, find specific things, and more fun for people trying to move their way up the various lists. also would give noobs a better indication of what maximas are capable of in various states of modification.

The way I would do it is have these categories:

Turbocharged
Supercharged
Nitrous
N/A motor swap (doesn't matter what chassis or engine)

and then a different category for all motor of each generation (meaning no motor swap)
3rd gen N/A
4th gen N/A
5th gen N/A
5.5 gen N/A
6th gen N/A
7th gen N/A

That way you don't end up with 400 categories with 1 person in each category. because honestly some swaps are super rare and not more than 1 or 2 people are ever going to do them. like aaron's 3.5 3rd gen or that 3.5 swapped in a 5th gen, etc.

you can put a little note next to the person if there is something that makes their car unique for that particular class such as having head work or someone having a built engine or stock engine or whatever.

and quit with the ??? @ ??? stuff. if they haven't run they don't go on the list. otherwise you are going to have 300 cars with times of ???@???

I never said it had VQ35 heads, I am saying it has 3.5L of displacement, which it does. mikern didn't know which category to list mardi in so I told him what he ran with the original 3.0 and what he ran after he swapped in his built 3.5 - regardless of what heads it has it's still a 3.5L.

if you're suggesting that there should be a class differentiation between cars with 3.5 blocks/3.5 heads and cars with 3.5 blocks and 3.0 heads i disagree. there is already way too much differentiation going on up there and the original post is becoming too cluttered, imo - and there are a million different variations on setups that we could make. hell no two setups are the same, we could just make a different category for every single car on the .org :P

i figure engine displacement is a good way to differentiate between FWD VQs.

 

mikern - there is no such thing as a VE30E. All VE30s are VE30DEs.


Also you're missing all VG powered cars, of which there are a lot on this forum. you should start going through the timeslip database at the top of the forum and researching guys' setups if you want this list to be all inclusive. there are a lot of guys 1/4 mile times that are posted in there that are missing from your list. many of those members have moved on to other cars but their 1/4 mile times still should go on a list if it's to be all inclusive.

 

the VE30E does not exist. he has a VE30DE.

 

point understood, I think the classes for boost should be turbo, superchargered and nitrous IMHO. It shouldnt matter what gen maxima you have. To me when you start boosting a motor displacement does matter as much.


For n/a 7th, 6th, 5.5, 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st then one last class for motor swaps

so you made this thread and then right after you made it your brother just happened to see some unknown maxima running unheardof times with not that much power, and your brother memorized those 1/4 mile times and the guy's dyno numbers? but he got no pictures or anything of the car and no details on it?
