well im thinkin alot about it and i dont know if i should replace my cat with a test pipe and what isze it should be...yea my car is stock but i hear it can give a bit of hp gain and give it a deeper exhaust note..and what about a down pipe?..will that be helpful with headers?

 

Test pipe will only add gains of your current cat is clogged. If not then it really isn't worth it.

Throw a y-pipe on to get rid of those precats. There you will notice gains.

 

oh yea i was just about to ask...if i put in a y-pipe would that give it a note?and any hp gain from it would be nice....well thet test pipe id do jus for the exhaust note and throw in the y-pipe for sure..good combo?

 

Down Pipe? Go high flow cat, it will sound nearly the same, you should pass inspection. And i ve read articles before that say only a few hp is gained from a test pipe, Nothing major.

The y-pipe's always make exhausts sound louder and raspier, even if stock. Don't waste money on a test pipe or HFC.

As far as gains go, I've seen someone pick up as much as 24hp untuned (with supporting mods of course). Most people pic up anywhere from 15-20hp.

Some people refer to y-pipes as down pipes. I wouldn't even get a HFC. Stock cats flow well enough unless they're clogged.

Ebay has them paired with headers for fairly cheap but fitment isn't always perfect. If you want just a y-pipe you can buy one from either Warpspeed or Cattman but Cattman is much more expensive and Warpspeed y's are know to have ****ty flex sections.

Please dont waste your time with ebay shorty header y-pipe header combos. They are not worth the headache of installing or wasting money paying somebody to install

Cattman has the best quality but not sure if he makes them anymore

i jus mught buy VQ'rs pipe..looks in good condition..it needs gaskets tho??

Ask the seller if he has the gaskets. If not you should buy new ones. BTW your sig is huge...

 

Cattman headers are in fact back into reproduction, it is a great product from what I have read from th reviews, I believe they also prevent from the Cats from clogging up and failing
