Has anyone added an LED strip next to the headlights like AUDI, if so pics/help?

I've been reading through other threads, and really like what some people have done with short 6" LED strips on their grill, like in Hamzer's mod thread. I was curious though if anyone had tried an LED strip on the headlight and if so how did you accomplish it?

To me it seems like it'd be tacky to just stick it to the outside of the headlight housing; or even in the tiny gap between the body and headlight. Is it even feasible to install this inside the housing or does that make the job 10x more complex? I don't want to spend all day wiring this up, but if I can get it to look clean that is my goal.

Also if you have installed LED strips anywhere else on the car I'd love to see your pics for ideas and end result. I've been considering different things like maybe lining the entire lower grill or maybe doing some contour tracing around the fogs/side grill areas.

I did find these white/amber switchback LED strips on Ebay, which I'm now extremely interested in.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/White...#ht_9391wt_909

Combined with the switchback 3157's for the front turn signals, that's probably a sick overall effect. And looking at the example, the Infinity, I think I'm sold on where to put them if the headlight area doesn't work.

That's a great idea on that G. IMO, drilling holes in the headlight housing and placing individual LEDs in there is better than just throwing a strip in there and calling it a day.

Question

Coupe of things

1- The headlights look gangsta
2- I like to see more pics off the headlights w/ the car, a few would be nice, is that your car?
3- 180custom.com link has a virus according to my Kaspersky internet security, it does not even allow me to log in...

Please post more info, thanks!

I likes...

Well, I like to put them beside the fogs, right nder the headlights. I think that's a perfect spot. I do not think it would nice other than there, in opinion anywhere else, it would look tacky, that's just me.

I was wondering a couple of things:

1- Can we order certain # of LEDs, I think 4-5 would be sufficient
2- Do the lights switch over to the other yellow color autpmaticly or by a switch? I do not care for the yellowish/orange color at all.

Thanks

I don't think 180 used a led strip thou, I think they just mounted each led individually

the switch back to yellow is so that you can connect it to your turning signal so when that comes on the yellow also comes on

led's are a little cheesy on the max, but I'd prefer the led line on the top curve portion of the front lamps.

I think a simple HID upgrade is all it needs.

At first I thought the LED strips were cheesy, until I saw that G35 up above and now I'm sold. $500 is a bit high to have them mounted in the headlight housing, so I think I'll stick with the lower bumper. Rather spend $500 on strut/sway bars and dropping the car than a small row of LED's...

I wanted to ask a related question - do the white/amber switchback bulbs work in our front turn signal socket? I'd like to have both the turn signals/LED strips be running lights/turn signals.

The leds on that g37 look so stupid. The placement is just horrible.

The headlight setup in that video is real real nice. Although I would still feel uneasy having something originated by another company on my car. It still without a dout sick as hell. Those demon eyes too look soo cool Like the car is about to eat someone.

I was liking the LED's on the lower grill or even in the side grill areas simply because it's different. Gotta admit though...after seeing the pics of headlights modded with LED strips on em I'm definitely not doing that.
