Exhaust/gas smell in rear seat?
Okay, I've noticed this for a while and wondered what was going on. Can't smell it from the front seat, but in the back it smells like gas/exhaust. I had 2 bad o2 sensors for about a year, but fixed those last week and looked at the exhaust, couldn't see any perforations visually. Car does smell strongly of unburned fuel outside, has for a few years now. Any ideas?
MPG still strong, no SES codes, passes emissions, but don't want the kid in back if the air quality is bad. 2001 w/106k and no exhaust mods other than Cattman Y which is in great shape.
One more thought, the rich smell may be due to not paying the stealership the $115 they want for the ECU reflash after changing the o2 sensors?

The fuel pump & filter is directly below the rear seat. You may want to pop out the rear seat (20 second job) and look for leaks.
