Symptom - feeling good and problem happens
Correction - stop feeling good; you will then not be let down

Were you at a stop?
How do you know it was from the transmission area?
How is the sound effected when you are in gear, change RMP, change in speed, change gears, or comparing one gear to another?

Being vague on purpose - transmission issue.
Sarcastically - your imagination/schizophrenia.

one of 2 things based on my experience bad throw out bearing or bad input shaft bearing heres a link of a bad input bearing listen at 9 seconds when he lets the clutch out

Under normal circumstances the throw-out/release bearing will only make noise when the clutch pedal is pressed (clutch is disengaged). It, however, will sound [similar?] to the above; most specifically, like there is 'gravel' on rotating the journal.

I would agree with the input shaft idea but do not like to make statements until I get more info. That is not to insult luke95gxe as he is most likely correct. However I like to discourage lazy posters and there is nothing to lose by getting the whole story.

i only started the car in the morning when it started. it hasnt thrown any codes or affectd any performace that i noticed. its just an annoying rattle. cant tell it its closer to the starter or actually in the tranny. all i kno is it doesnt do it at all when i keep my foot on the clutch. it even does it when my foot isnt on the clutch while driving

no, you're right the driver side axle is different

K31J1m0N, you can probably drive on that for a quite a while before the tranny goes. When it starts to go, you'll know, I didn't have 4th gear for almost 3 months before mine completely went

If you're near Harrisburg bring the new transmission by me and I can crack it open and check the condition of the internals before you install it. Takes about an hour to pull it apart and reseal it.
