Auto Gear Selector - Button popped out
Auto Gear Selector - Button popped out
I searched and didn't find anything about this, but I don't believe I'm the first.
Went and turned around in a driveway, went from reverse to drive and the button you depress to move the auto trans lever hit me in the leg (WTF?)
Now it doesn't want to say in. It is dark out, so I don't know if there are other parts (will look in the morning) other than the button and a spring.
Any words of wisdom?

probably broke the retaining clip for the button
I'm assuming you still have the spring as well as the button?
If you do, take out the screws that are on the back of the shifter. They're very short screws so be careful. your shifter should pull right up. Put the spring in the spot where it goes (it only goes in one way), and push it in. Hold the button in as if you were chaging gears and put the shifter back on, make sure you put it on all the way. You can then let go of it. If it pops out again, you can either go to autozone or something and buy an automatic shift ****, or leave your OEM one there and just push it down to shift. But the only downside of that is that it will turn left and right.
