I went and drove this car yesterday and love it. It has the elite and nav package. Needs new tires and brakes but thats about it. How much do you guys think this is worth? 8,500 or 9,000? or more?

Nice ride but I don't it's worth 11K. 7.5K maybe? Would rather have 5.5 gen with 6 spd! Oh wait I do!!!! lol

I wouldnt pay 11. I was thinking more like 8K. The things I really like is the Elite package, black and black combo, all power options! I love the 5.5 too but cant seem to find a good one in the Illinois/Indiana region with low miles and an auto climate control!!

Yeah I agree with you 8K isn't too bad. My car is pretty much what you seek man! 2002 SE, 6spd, all the options, black on black with around 89K miles!

8.5k is more than enough for this car.

Mileage should be around 80-90k for the year, but 103k isn't too bad.
Has the "package" deal which is good.

Talk to the dealer throw some numbers around and see if they can throw some tires on there and brakes also

Not worried too much about the brakes. All 4 rotors and ceremic pads are coming to $150 (I got hook ups at Advance Auto) and I can change them myself. Tires are my biggest concern. My last 04Max, I installed high performance tires and they cost about $600 for a set.

If your gonna pay 8k for a car might as well tell the dealer to fix the brakes..
I work at a auto garage and before that I worked at a dealer, so I know all about tires lol.my 2 rear tires cost $437, but the dealer paid for it, along with a inner tierod and alignment and pads.

Its your money so be wise about it. Even if its $150 for brakes, make them pay and keep the $150...tell him what your willing to pay if he does the maintenance.. Dealers love money and he probably grabbed the car at an auction anywhere from 4k-7k so $1500 profit is enough for him, even if he has to take a hit on some tires.

I just saw how much he paid for it at the auction. Thanks to my insider at Manheim. He paid $7K for it at the auction + $220 as auction fees. $7220 is his out of pocket costs at the auction and I dont know how much he must have spend reconditioning the car (its freshly detailed and oil looked new). My insider says that the average auction price for the same car is between $6.5-7.5K

2004 NISSAN MAXIMA SE BLACK 46GASBYCDSR 103,744 7,000
2004 NISSAN MAXIMA SE BLACK 46GAS6YCDSN 95,919 $7,200
2005 NISSAN MAXIMA SE BLACK 46GASAYCDSN 91,532$9,400
2006 NISSAN MAXIMA SE BLUE 46GASAYTAPEMR 62,548$11,000
2007 NISSANMAXIMA SE NAVY 46GASAYCDSR 64,644$13,200
2004 NISSANMAXIMA SL GRAY 46GASAYCDMR 100,411$8,300

offer what YOU think it is worth. If you would be happy paying 11k do it. More than likely, you are not going to pay what it is "worth." as an enthusiast im sure you know how rare an elite 6 speed with navi is, and he will more than likely play your emotions, and bought this car to market towards our kind. It's awesome, hell i was excited looking at that car, but be realistic about it.

Top I would think about offering is 9k, but that will include tires, brakes, and some kind of short term limited warranty, and 9k is a bit much, but I would definitely start at around 8,200 and meet somewhere between that and 9k.

Agreed with everything said above. To be honest that care is super rare and if i had the cash i would definitely pay 9-10K and that included my emotions on how i feel about the car. you have to pay what you think its worth to you and how badd you want that ride. If i had to do it again, i would buy an elite package

Car looks nice if you can get it cheaper, 8-9k is fair, but do yourself a favor and get your advance fix on the pads, but please go buy the rotors at NAPA or from Nissan. Advance rotors are not made to factory spec. from what I hear, get the ultra premiums/premiums or brembo blanks from your local NAPA. I've been in the parts business for almost 10 years...ran my own store for 3.5 years until I decided to hit the books again in January.

Went there this morning and the car was sold . Gotta go back and look for something else now!! Thanks for all your inputs. I was going to offer the dealer $9K out the door (Taxes+plates+titles is about $850). Oh well!

I had the same color Maxima and didnt like the interior. Black and Black have always been my preference. Plus that ride had the chrome rims/moon roof/elite package and XM. I dont care too much about the nav, but I dont want a grey interior!

That '04 with the Elite package is sweet! The money they're asking - as one of the other guys points out - indicates that they know it's a rare ride. I've been looking for a 5.5 for a while now, and good deals here in the Northeast are sure hard to come by!
