I got this email.
"We appreciate your interest. However, we do not stop what we are doing to change our priority whenever we get an e-mail blitz from an owners group. The Maxima is a popular car with a loyal following, but it is not the most
popular nor the most accessorized car on the market and we have to react to the market within our own resources. We are the creator and innovater of euro lights for the broad market of cars and the Maximia is on ourlist. However, clogging our e-mail with your Maxima.org members, can have
negative effects. Thank you for your interest.
Briant"

Still trippin'

And this email

"I do understand your interest in this item but unfortunately like I stated in previous emails this product is not available for the Maxima. The only way to get a set of these is to get a set custom made. There really is
no way that you can get a custom set made without paying thousands of dollars. Even if you had thousands of dollars to spend on those the chances of finding someone who will do it will be very difficult. APC is attempting to make a euro for the higher interest groups first, it is just clever
marketing, it makes sense to do that. They probably feel that if they take the time and the money to fabricate and tool a mold for Maximas the end return will probably result in a loss, and when you run a business you do not want to lose money. I am not saying that the Maxima is not popular, I visited you site and it seems like there would be a popular market for this but APC is not aware of this. In business you want to provide a product that will sell, and sell with the intent of making a profit. Sure, maybe
many people want those taillights made for their car and they are willing to pay for them, but even if APC did make them they would probably not sell as good as the taillights for a higher interest group. I hope you do If you have not already, give APC a call at 1800.594.4APC. If you have any more questions feel free to email me at Stylin Concepts."

apc already makes the euro tails for honda and acura and lexus, i even seen there styles on trucks, thats the part i dont understand , who can be in this for a higher demand than nissan? they already did alot of the mid to late 90s hondas/acura so when are they going to make them for us. i really cant see apc losing money on this, those lights probably cost 100$ to make and they sell a set for like 230.
i think the whole thing is b.s. if u ask me, just make them already.

ok, so let me get this straight...they think that it's profitable to make altezzas for a 1989 Chevy astro van or a 1993 Ford Ranger pickup truck, but not a maxima...have they not noticed that the most popular sedans are Maximas Accords and Camrys??? I'm really disappointed...

i think its pretty bad of them if they wont make these for us, i mean they can only start with a couple of hundred units and see where it goes ,there is no way in hell they will lose money , they have so many other parts they are selling that people are going to buy, making maybe 300 units to start wont break there bank. the people on here rnt dumb so they might tell us the real reason for this.

Well, you gotta feel bad for the guy. All of a sudden he gets this flood of emails he has to deal with. If you think about it, it's got to be annoying. Maybe a better way would have been to have one person compile the emails and then just send him a list of names instead of making him sort through all these emails. It's practically like spamming the guy. There are other companies besides APC that make the lights, maybe you could try them too.

hey i am not being a wiseguy shadow but that guy who we were e mailing is the ceo of the company so he is rolling in the dow so i dont feel bad for him , and he should of made a set for our cars to begin with , then if they werent selling discontinue it.
BUT i think we should ve took a poll and then sent them to him as one unit, that i understand.

That's true, but honestly, a Maxima is about the last car that comes to mind when you think about modifying a car. You just have to keep that in mind. People are saying, well, if they make it for this truck, and this van, why can't they make it for us? There are 10 times as many modified pickups as modified maximas. I've probably seen more modified pickups than I've seen modified imports. And around here, I've seen more modified vans than I have maximas. Everytime I tell someone I modified a Maxima, they think I'm kidding. When they see my car, they understand, but the first impression is not good.
I personally don't like the lights, but that's just me. I'm all for getting more companies to make stuff for our cars. But I think we have to be more professional about it. I run a decal shop and when I get people emailing me about whether or I can make a certain decal or something custom, I tend to respond better and take that person more seriously if the email is professional. My friend owns a company that makes aluminum dash kits and he is the same way. We would be much more responsive if someone took the time to compile a list of names and explain to us the advantages of targeting that market instead of getting a flood of emails from people demanding that we make a product for their car because that car should be recognized.

Actually, the problem is that they can't start small. The costs for the molds, prototyping, design, etc. are going to be the same whether they sell 1 set or 500 sets. For something like taillights, I'm pretty sure it's not cheap for the equipment. So they'd have to be guaranteed a pretty decent amount of sales to make them for maximas.

hmm, they already make clear outer pieces so I would think that they could modify that mold and make an inner...I know they're in it to make money but I really think that they're capable of doing this. Maybe we should all get together and sign a new thread or have someone compile the list of all of the definite buyers based upon the design that we've already sent them. Maybe then they'll see that just by selling to us alone, they could turn a profit. If it works adn word gets out, cool. If not, discontinue the style and we all have a really hard to get mod... What do you guys think???

I'm not giving up!!!!!!!!!!!!

I emailed the CEO of APC this and also sent this email to Bmasters at sylingconcepts

Who made the all clear rears that are illegal for the 95/96 Maxima? There is already a mold or protopype this can be made and used for some Altezzas right? How does all of this stuff work. I'm not giving up hope on our lights what do I need to do get a list of people? Please help me on this the guys at Maxima.org we feel let down and pushed to the side.
How can we be taken seriously? Just consider making a few and if they don't sell discontinue them. We all know "everything" that get's mass produced does not sell. Are there any products that you have that just have not sold or have dropped off in sales or is it that everyhting that you make sell so fast you have to have them on backorder? But take a chance we are trying to take our business to APC but if they don't want our business we can go somwhere else. I mean there is stuff made for old 1990 model cars and here we have Maximas from 95/96,97-99 newer styles. I just don't understand how all of this works. When the stuff is made for Hondas and Acuras is there a demand or do you and your group of designers just say let's make it for them or is there an idea brought to you? Look at the top selling sedans and see where the Maxima is on the list. There is a big Maxima market out there we just need to tap into it. Do I give up or not what gives, what do we need to?

Thank You,William Gay

Lets review our options

Ok, APC won't make our lights? We can:

* Wait for them to make em.
* Keep emailing asking why and when
* Start looking to other companies
* Try to make our own lights starting with clears?

Is anyone out there compatent to work with plastics and maybe take a set of Max clears and a set of Civic Altezza and make a custom set? If someone can do it, they can sell em to us, and maybe to others on the web and make some bux in the process.

IMHO, APC wont budge until they see the market demand for it or see that their competition is gonna make money on it. I say pressure them by going elsewhere. Who else makes these? Is there a Co that can start up on this that doesn't currently make taillights?

Just some ideas...

Jack

I emailed them again. I'm not going to quit fellas I'm trying everyday super, super hard. We will win.

"Hello how are you doing this is William Gay again from Maxim.org. I'm confused. One of the guys called APC an was told that you are making us the Altezzas for our Maximas by December of this year and now he is excited. I called yesterday and one of your sales people was real rude and laughed on the phone and said we don't make them for the Maxima. Are you really going to consider the Altezzas for us? We really respect APC as a company and would hope we can get them made by APC. If not we can TRY another company out there. I'm trying really hard here I just want the truth are we seriously being considered on making the Altezzas or am I wasting your time and mine. Thank You,William Gay. Please let me know."

that really wasn't professional at all of the customer service rep. I bet he drives a Civic =). Well William, that was a good email and I hope it will result in a positive reply. I would really like to get these lights. It would benefit APC in my opinion cuz it would show others that they are expanding as a company by broadening their product line into other vehicles. NO telling how many people would be interested. Hell, Courtesy Nissan might even start carrying them if they started making them. Maxima enthusiasts are a growing breed, especially since fourth generations are more affordable now with the introduction of the Y2K maximas. Well, just my opinion. They can feel free to let the group of people on Maxima.org be the guinea pigs for the new lights. Then that might cause a stir and have more people call and inquire about them. After all, we maxima enthusiasts, fanatics, lurkers, newbies and maximamanics reside in every major city in the US. How is that for advertisement....???

I don't know William, wonder if he's just trying to get us to leave him alone. I say we still compile the list of everyone that's down and send it to him with a THANK YOU on behalf of all those who are interested...maybe that will help him follow through with his claim.

I agree with BlueThingSE

Hey I am still all for piling up the names, and e-mails of everyone interested. See my post a few down for "lets get the.."
We should follow up and maybe they will have a good idea of about how many people are really interested.
Again, just an idea...

Hey I'm skeptical too but for now I am taking his "WORD" as from a good man to keep his word and he has been emailing me so I will keep in touch to make sure and check that everything is going good on producing them for us. It is not over by far. It aint over til we have them on our rides. I'm down like 4(four) piece Altezzas on the Max. YEAH!!!!!!!!!
