License plate rattle anyone?

I just purchased a low-mileage 2001 SE and I noticed that the rear license plate only has screws on top of the plate. Every time I close my trunk, it rattles and against the paint at that.

Has anyone had this and how did you fix it?

It does the same thing with a dealership plastic border thing as well.

Thanks

I took some 1/4" foam padding (like what electronics are shipped in), cut it to size a little smaller than the plate and placed behind the plate.

I placed a couple small, self-adhesive round bumpers at the bottom corners behind the plate. Cheap and easy fix.

+1. I did something very similar. Also helps with the rattle when Mr. Sinatra and Mr. Bennet are played at high volumes

Yeah, it's definitely a necessity if you have subs.

Dollar store. Cheap sponge. Shove it behind the plate.

That's exactly what I did years ago. Home Depot strikes again.
