MAF Screen removal (something you guys might want to see)

You should never take that screen out for the reasons you have stated. I remember someone doing that and they didn't get any improvements, plus you won't be able to get the screen back on once you rip it out. It will also block debris that might get into the MAF.

If you've got debris thats big enough to get blocked by that screen coming through your filter you have bigger things to worry about. Remove it if you want, don't if you don't want to..

When I cleaned my TB this past weekend, I had to remove parts of my CAI and I noticed a few pieces of debris at the MAF screen. If the screen wouldn't have been there, then all of this would have passed through.

the screen is there to reduce turbulence to allow the heated wire to get a more correct reading of the incoming air intake charge; it is not there for debris removal. That's what the air filter is for. Most particles around ~ 20 micron gets burnt up in the combustion chamber anyway.
