1997 Maxima SE - 5spd - NO RUST
This is copy/paste from my craigslist ad - please feel free to ask any questions.
REDUCED TO $3500
I have for sale a 1997 Nissan Maxima, Green exterior, tan cloth interior.
It has 169k on it and counting (I drive it daily). It is a five speed manual (5spd) transmission.
I just purchased this car in February, 2010 from some folks in Chicago who drove it up from AZ in November 2009. This vehicle has only seen 2 midwest winters and is therefore TOTALLY RUST FREE on the structure of the car! I have owned several older Nissans (Altima, Sentra, NX2000, infiniti G20, etc) and rust is the #1 killer of these cars in this region
I also have a y-pipe that is supposed to increase performance a bit as well as MPG. It has never been installed and is in the box. I will throw it in at $4k, anything less depends ($150 new).
On my last fillup I got 27MPG in this car, it runs awesome!
A/C blows cold, power windows, power locks, stereo plays mp3 and has USB input.
This car has a folder of service records from AZ; the clutch is newer. Since I have owned it I have filled it up with 93 octane and Mobil 1 oil every time. It does have a small oil leak on the front case. As long as you keep it topped off it is fine. To fix the leak, the engine practically has to be removed and it's just not worth it to me (feel free to have a mechanic evaluate prior to purchase - I had Esler's in Westfield look at it and they agreed). Premium fuel (93 octane) is recommended, but NOT required. It gets better gas mileage and is better for the engine so I chose to use it. You'd be fine with 87.
I just replaced the spark plugs and put brand new BFGoodrich g-Force Sport summer tires on the summer wheels. The Maxima also comes with a separate set of Maxima wheels (alloy's - not cheap steel wheels) with studded snow tires mounted on them. It can handle pretty much anything with these tires, I had no problem getting around in them w/ the snow. The picture in the garage has snow tires on (you can see the wheels are different).
Asking $4k obo. Please email with quesitons or to schedule a showing.

Thanks! Do you still have the spare tire in your shed? We used to get up to Chicago at least twice a year, but we haven't been up since we bought the car (mainly due to our daughter that was born a month later).
