energy suspension control arm bushing
energy suspension control arm bushing
How hard are these to install? Can it be done using a regular shop press? Shops around here seems scared to do this. Any suggestions? Car is an 02 max. Thanks
Im actually thinking about getting these as well... Im planning on getting the control arm kit from FCPimport and then putting in these bushings.. Would it be just as a pain if not more/less to pop out new bushings instead of worn ones?
I've got solid ES bushings in my original lower control arms (with MOOG ball joints), and this is one case where I don't think it was worth the effort & expense. Engine mounts definitely, no doubt in my mind. But LCA's... not so much.
5th gen's must be radically different then (But they aren't)... Because it was night and day for booooshings on my car.
So... all I can think of is that my original equipment wasn't very worn out when I had it replaced, whereas yours was probably shot. So our respective deltas were completely different. Know what I mean?
All I know is that one of my ball-joints was getting loose with age. Rather than just replacing the BJ's or the entire LCA, I bought MOOG joints and ES bushings. When it was over, the change in front-end feel and stability was negligible. And I'm pretty sensitive to how my car feels.

I had to go poly last summer because of the power steering leak I have that's not going to be attended to until the engine comes out sometime this fall.
