maxima parts are too expensive
maxima parts are too expensive
i was at kragen getting the gasket needed to clean my throttle body, i didn't know the name of gasket so i took my chiltons in, i showed the page to the clerk, and i was told it was the exhaust manifold gasket, and it was going to cost 19 dollars and some change. I was told this was because it was a maxima, i know japanese cars cost more for parts, but 19 dollars seemed a little far fetched for a gasket.
I don't know if what the clerk said was correct, intake manifold gasket would make more sense, but the price for a gasket seemed steep for what i wanted. I came in thinking on spending 2 or 3 dollars. Anyways, what's the correct name for the gasket and how much should i expect to pay? and is there another way to clean my throttle body without replacing my gasket?

Re: maxima parts are too expensive
there is only one name "throttle body gaskets"...if they get confused tell them you need the front gasket(where the intake "elbow" connects to the TB) and the rear(where the TB connects to the intake) make sure they give you the right ones because they are different....and my gaskets were only about $6 for both at Nissan!
