My new ride!! 1999 Maxima GXE **PICS**

After searching Craigslist for a couple of weeks and wasted countless hours looking at cars that are just complete junk, I finally found one that I like.

The care is pretty clean and at the price range I was looking for, so I bought it right on the spot.

There's just a couple of minor issues that need to be addressed but overall the car is in decent shape. First problem is the giant holes on the driver side carpet :/ Looks like a rat or a hungry bum ate through it (Picture #6). Second is the rear driver side suspension squeaks when you go over bumps. You can replicate the noise by pushing the rear of the car up and down. Does that mean that I need new shocks/struts? As far as the carpet goes, Nissan wants $600 for the new carpet :O

Need to replace carpet but don't have $600 + Labor

Nice pick up! Clean and good mileage! You going to have to clean your battery terminals. One looks corroded. Clean it with backing soda, water, brush, and then apply vaseline....Im originally from central jersey. WAIT! You smell alittle like bacon. Just kidding. Are you a cop? If so, hook me up with a pba card...

Bacon eh? You're going to need to save some of that Vaseline for yourself when you get pulled over

Change so many? Because they have issues? I will watch what you do. I plan to change drive belts and radiator hoses.

Junkyard interior is a good idea or you canjust get some nice floor mats and call it a day. Not sure if you used them to buy your parts, but rockauto has some of the best prices for replacement/maintenance parts....inexpensive and ships out quick. NJ here too, piscataway, NJ. I have a buddy on the force. He covers sayreville down to brick I think.

I can feel the suspension is getting soft and on its way out. The car doesn't bottom out or anything but I can feel it's not as tight. May as well replace it and be done with it. It'll make the car ride like brand new again and should last me the life of the car (probably 200k miles)

Besides, it's a 12 year old car with 117k miles. I'm pretty sure all the rubber bushings and suspension parts are worn out.

I just went to the junk yard today and scored the Digital Clock (my digital clock doesn't work) and the Cup holders (my cup holder is missing some tabs on the bottom so it's kinda sitting loosely and not secured). Now i'm 2 steps closer to a completely clean max

get used to the gas consumption, i use at least $50-60 a week driving around locally and my lead foot does'nt help either. i see a black leather interior in your future, that gray cloth is hideous. dont know what nissan was thinking, should have put black on black, but i guess joo gotta pay for luxury!!!!
