Making muffler quieter with sound-deadening material, possible?

I was thinking, since all these people are using sound deadening in their doors and trunks and all, isnt it possible to put some sound-deadeing material like right above the muffler or in the trunk so that the muffler isnt as loud on the inside of the car as it is on the outside?

Ive been thinking about this ever since I got my custom muffler like a year ago, the sound is great (cause it sounds soooooo cool ) but sometimes it makes my head pound...i dont know what kind of material i need and whether it is safe to put it above the hot muffler and whether it will mess up with rain??

Anyone think this is feasable?

don't know what exhaust you have, but the apexi WS catback has a silencer you can buy and put on it to reduce the sound, then you can take it off when you want noise

no I have some cheap *** "bullet" muffler

i was thinking of drilling a hole and getting a silencer...but then that defeats the purpose of the muffler for me

i want it to be loud all the time....but only on the outside, not inside the cabin

the best way is to probably remove the carpeting inside the car and dynamat the whole thing but that will cost alot of $$.
