Change Lettering from 98 max style to 95 Max Style

Hello All,

Is it just me but I like the lettering of the MAXIMA on the 95 - 97's better (M A X I M A) better than the cramped style of the 98's (MAXIMA).

Did anyone else do this and also how much would the letters cost with and the Product number form nissan?

Lastly, how do you safely remove the old lettering.

Thanks,

Kyle

Please use the search link at the top right of the page next time.

I'm not sure, but I think the letters are the same, so you could just seperate them a little more, regardless, you can take them off with floss or fishing line. The letters are held on by more or less rubber cement. carefully "shave" off the letters, take off the adhesive and wash&wax. as for applying the new ones, you can use clear double sided 3m automotive tape

No they are not the same! The '97-'99 are connected. The '95 and '96s are not. I too like the look of the '95/'96 better - but not nearly as nice as no lettering!

the 97-99 letters are connected as one piece, you would have to buy some 95-96 letters and glue them on

RedMax95, I am in agreement.

Without a doubt, the separate M A X I M A looks alot better

IMO the MAXIMA looks better than M A X I M A on the 95-96s, although I've never seen it done on a 97-99 Maxima. It might look good considering the back of a 97-99 is a lot nice than 95-96. Can't go wrong with shaved badging though, makes it look so clean.
I'm thinking about painting my MAXIMA black and putting it back on to my 98 to see how it would look. I think it might look decent on my black Max. Who knows, just a thought, probably wont do it though.

DARN YOU! my car is in the shop having this done right now, quit taking my ideas.. I'll beat you to it My car is navy (starfire metallic blue), everyone thinks it is black haha, even the cops... but my letters on the back are being painted body color and the hamburger has already been shaved.. I'll post pics as soon as I get it back (tommorow, hopefully)

HAHA sorry bro. If you makes you feel better I was gonna do it myself with glossy black spray paint from Home Depot. Your approach sounds much better. If it looks good let me know. I was thinking about just putting the Maxima back on, not the hamburger. I love it shaved so it would have to look amazing for me to put anything back on.

Re: :o)

In alot of things that happen, alot has to do with people's opinions. There are alot of people, each with alot of opinions and also ideas. Alot of use have Maximas. Almost all, but not all, so alot of us would be more appropriate.

Alot of people made new year resolutions, alot of these resolutions have nothing to do with ideas.

Alot is a cool word. It saves a space. I vote, let's make alot a word. After all, it carries alot of responsibilites

I'm a freakin' engineer, I think the word alot should be a word.
IT IS!!!!!!!!!!! ( http://www.acronymfinder.com/af-quer...t&Acronym=ALOT )
Acronym Definition
ALOT Adaptive Large Optics Technologies
ALOT Airborne Lightweight Optical Tracking
ALOT Allotment

Sadly, alot does not equal to a lot.

Happy new year ptatohed!

Someone's got to spread the joy!!!

I just got back from the police station. I went to the car wash to wash my car and some jerk in a Ford pickup backed into my driver side door and quarter panel, and drove off.

Good thing I was driving my beater Escort, not the Maxima. But it still ****es me off, now my door doesn't shut right and it's dented. That guy was at fault, I've got a witness, I've lodged a police report.

I tried getting his license plate # but he was driving off, and I need new glasses so hopefully I got the right number. Anyone know a black Ford pickup with Michigan plates that go sumtihng like C95 16F?

Here's the bad part, police say it happened on private property (car wash), so they can't charge him. I'm thinking, WTH!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to pick up the police report in a couple of days, if the number is correct, I'll try to take him to court. I know it's only the Escort, but the guy is at fault. Damn pickup truck probably doesn't have a scratch on it too!!!! I hate people with that attitude. Just coz you drive a pickup, you don't rule the road! AS*HOLE!!!!

I swear, I wish him a one way ticket to hell! I don't care who he is, but he deserves whatever bad thing that happens to him! Tonight, I'm gonna pray a semi backs into his truck and drives off!
